Finnish Women’s Day
Suomalainen Naisen Päivät is a weekend event organized by the Stichting Finnish Women’s Day foundation, held once a year in the Netherlands.
The event has been held annually since 1989 and is intended for Finnish women of all ages. The majority of participants come from the Netherlands, but women from neighboring countries also regularly attend. There are approximately eighty participants each year, and more than five hundred women follow the foundation’s updates.
Suomalainen Nainen Päivät offers an opportunity to relax, have fun with old and new friends, and meet new Finnish women. Networking fosters a sense of community, eases homesickness, and can assist in job or apartment searches. Many companies and collaborations have started in the inspiring atmosphere of the event, and peer support helps with many of life’s challenges.
The cost of the event includes a joint program as well as meals and coffee in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. There will be many interesting topics in the optional workshops organized during the weekend, including health, beauty, well-being, exercise, and art. The themed party on Saturday night is one of the highlights of the event and will be talked about for a long time afterward.
The event concludes with cheers of joy as prizes from the lottery table are distributed. The great prizes are donations from sponsors and private individuals. The lottery is the single most important source of income, which helps sustain Suomalainen Nainen Päivät year after year. As a non-profit organization we are grateful to our generous sponsors who enable us to create this amazing event year after year.
Come and meet wonderful Finnish women. Relax, try something new, network, and above all, enjoy yourself!
